// Project Overview

Modernizing our map editing tool

The previous version was limited by outdated technology, making updates difficult.

I led the UX/UI redesign, created a design system, and developed an onboarding process to improve user adoption.

The project resulted in a clearer interface, an architecture that supports continuous updates, and faster user onboarding, addressing the needs of both novices and power users.

The objective of this project was to modernize our 3D mapping tool, making it more accessible to novice users while retaining its advanced features for experts.

// The Challenge

Multifaceted complexity

01 / Wide user skill range

Our users range from a complete beginner with no experience in design to mapping experts with extremely different needs.

02 / Simplifying without compromise

Making the UI and the UX easier to navigate while keeping every existing functionalities and technical control.

03 / Scalable

The UI needs to be built in a way that allows for new feature to be added without compromising the legibility.

// our approach

Modernizing our map editing tool

01 / Smart information hierarchy

Redesigned the UI to guide users through the digital mapping process while ensuring consistency and scalability for all skill levels

02 / Guidance through complexity

Rather than assuming expertise, we help new users start confidently with guided onboarding, and ensure power users can access technical settings in discreet dropdowns.

03 / New robust underlying technology

Built on a modern technology stack that enables rapid iteration without interrupting service, allowing us to continuously improve features and respond quickly to user feedback.
